Info Post

It’s true that Our Girl Carly Rae Jepsen probably didn’t invent the practice of sitting in a crouch on one side of the screen while wearing high heels, but let’s be real here. When you have the #1 single of the summer—the year, in all likelihood—you basically set the precedent with just about whatever you do. Not to mention that we’ve spent an abnormally part of the 2012 calendar year staring at the cover art for the “Call Me Maybe” single—on the iTunes charts, on other peoples’ mp3 player screens, as a graphic in our articles, etc.—so we’re bound to pick up on it when another artist apes her style.

So, Pink’s The Truth About Love. Truthfully, Pink’s pose is not a total rip-off—it’s a Reverse Carly Rae Jepsen, anyway—and her hair and getup is far more eye-grabbing than OGCRJ’s. Still, in the summer of “Call Me Maybe,” it’s best to be on the safe side, and Pink is certainly treading on dangerous ground with this cover. Just saying.
